You can find magic wherever you look. Sit back and relax. All you need is a book” ~Dr.Seuss.

IMG_0712On March 2, schools nationwide celebrated Read Across America in honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday and to promote reading. Students dressed as their favorite book characters, and paraded their costumes before our Mystery Reader appeared.

Who was our Mystery Reader? It was Sister Cynthia, Superintendent of the Catholic Schools in the Diocese. She read Green Eggs and Ham to our school community followed by the eighth grade students leading the school in song about the wonders of reading.

One of the highlights of the day, was when students participated in Buddy Readings. Each older student paired with an elementary student, and read books chosen by the younger student.IMG_0548IMG_0588

Sometimes you never know the value of a moment until it is a memory” ~Dr. Seuss.
